BEFORE INSTALLING THE TOOLBAR
There are a few things you need to know!

System Requirements (PC):

System Requirements (MAC):

  • Linix, Mac OS X 10.x
  • Firefox
  • Note: Safari does not support toolbars
  • Note: We are still working on other browsers such as Flock, Chrome

The My Power Mall toolbar

I split the toolbar into 2 pieces due to the width of the toolbar. You will see 2 pictures representing the left side (top) and right side (bottom).

Toolbar (Left half)

Toolbar (Right half)

If you are using a smaller monitor, your toolbar may not display all the icons at one time. You will see a down arrow at the end of the toolbar and clicking that down arrow will display the hidden icons.

MPM Toolbar

Step #1 - Uninstall previous MPM Toolbars

If you have the old MPM Toolbar installed (image below), uninstall that toolbar before attempting to install the new MPM Toolbar (image above). Click the small down arrow next to the My Power Mall icon and select: Uninstall Toolbar.

Old Toolbar

Old Toolbar

If you were a BETA tester for this release of the MPM Toolbar, follow these instructions to uninstall the older version:

  • Close all Internet Explorer browser windows
  • Open your Control Panel
  • Open the Add/Remove Programs application
  • Scroll down and highlight "My Power Mall Toolbar"
  • Click the Remove button

Step #2 - Download this Help file

Once the old toolbar is uninstalled (if applicable), you can continue with the new installation. First, please download this Toolbar Help file so you have it for a quick reference. Just right-click the link and select "Save Target As..."

Step #3 - Install the new MPM Toolbar

During the installation process, you will be asked several questions. Here are the step-by-step instructions so you know what to expect:

  1. Do you want to Run or Save this file? - click "Run"
  2. The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? - Click "Run". This toolbar is free from any type of spyware.
  3. You will be asked to enter your MPM ID# (your mall number -- NOT your key code).
  4. The setup will go through its cycle. - Click "Next"
  5. After the installation is complete, click "Close"

Once you have installed the toolbar return to this page for a detailed explanation of the MPM Toolbar!

Step #4 - Learn the features of the MPM Toolbar

Now that your toolbar is installed, we can walk through the specific features. The first thing you need to know is the Pop-up blocker is turned on by default. This toolbar will block all pop-ups including new browser windows. There are three ways to turn off or bypass the pop-up blocker:

  1. At the end of the toolbar (possibly hidden) is a button that says Popup Block. Click that button and the button text will say "OFF". That turns the popup block off temporarily for sites you don't visit all the time.
  2. The second option turns the Pop-up blocker off completely. Click on the down arrow of the My Power Mall icon, click on Toolbar Setting, then Pop-up Blocker. Uncheck "Enabled" and click "OK" to close the configuration window.
  3. The last option (recommended) is to add frequently visited sites to your approved list (the White List). Open the Toolbar Settings window and click on the White List option. Several sites are added by default and are listed below:
    • http://www.someonebelievesinyou.com

The next thing you should be aware if is the My Power Mall icon on the left-hand side of the toolbar. Next to that icon is a small down arrow. Clicking the down arrow will display a menu that looks like the image below. This is where you will customize your MPM Toolbar.

SettingsThe first two items in the list are the Add Mall and Remove Mall buttons. Clicking either of these links will open a dialog box (shown below) that will allow you to add or remove malls from this toolbar.

To add a mall to the toolbar, enter a unique name for the mall and a unique MPM ID number, then click the "Add" button. This list is not sortable and will be displayed on the toolbar in the order entered.

To remove a mall from the toolbar, select the item in the list and click the "Remove Selected" button. You cannot however, remove the last remaining mall from the list. You must always have at least one mall configured on the toolbar at all times.

SettingsToolbar Settings opens the same dialog box as above but it also gives you some customization options such as adding RSS Feeds, Managing Alerts, and other features discussed below.

Update Toolbar is what you will use to update your toolbar when new versions are released. You will receive notification in email updates and/or Alerts. If you click on the Update Toolbar option, it will reinstall your toolbar with the latest updates.

Uninstall does just that. It removes the toolbar from your computer and browser window. Currently, you will see an alert stating to use your control panel's add/remove programs feature to uninstall the toolbar. Mac users can uninstall the toolbar from Firefox by opening the Filrefox browser, click on Tools, then Add Ons. Highlight the MPM Toolbar add on and click uninstall. You will need to restart Firefox for the change to take effect.

The search feature allows you to search the Internet from Google's search engine. Using the Google search box on your MPM Toolbar and clicking on the "Sponsored Links" raises money for children in need each time you click on a sponsored link in the result search.

Search

Current UserThe Current User dropdown indicates the current mall number the toolbar is configured for. In this example, mall# 400 is displayed on the toolbar. That means that all buttons such as the Shop Now, Product Search and Back Office buttons work with Mall# 400. You can change the current user simply by selecting a different mall number (if you previously added any) and the toolbar will automatically update the buttons on the toolbar configured for the new mall selection.

The Shop Now button takes you directly to your mall so you can purchase your every day needs and wants. This is probably the most important button on the page so maximize it's use! It's the only way anyone in My Power Mall earns commissions unless you have a World Changer Mall.

The Product Search button takes you directly to the product search page on your mall and allows you to search for products within the stores affiliated with MPM based on keywords and/or a price range.

The Back Office button takes you to your back office login page.

The RSS Feeds dropdown is your RSS feed reader; one of the main reasons for this toolbar. It is your MPM communication lifeline. Quite simply, e-mail is no longer a viable delivery method due to spam issues, filters, anti-virus software, and much more. An RSS reader allows you to subscribe to the information you want to receive. It is not blocked or filtered in any manner which guarantees delivery to the intended recipients. Make sure everyone on your team installs the MPM Toolbar so we can communicate with our MPM family members.

Two RSS Feeds have been added by default and are listed below:

  1. http://www.mypowermall.net/RSS/Updates.xml
  2. http://www.mypowermall.net/RSS/Alerts.xml

RSS

You can add additional RSS Feeds to this dropdown list by first obtaining the RSS link you want to add. Copy the link to your clipboard or if you already know your favorite links, follow these steps to add your RSS Feed:

  1. Click on the dropdown next to the MPM logo and select Toolbar Settings and RSS Feeds.
  2. In the URL textbox type or copy/paste your RSS Feed.
  3. Modify the number of articles you want to have available for this feed.
  4. Click Add and then OK to close the configuration window.

The links in red (above) indicate that article has already been read by you or another user on your computer.

Common WebsitesThe MPM Websites button is your quick access to a number of MPM related websites. These are pretty self-explanatory so I'm not going to go into detail. I would suggest you click through each of them and get to know your business.

I will however, explain the MPM Members Forum login process. To log into the members forum, enter your MPM ID number as your username and your MPM Key (in ALL CAPS) as your password. If you copy/paste your MPM Key Code from a document, make sure you DO NOT copy any extra characters (such a spaces at the end of the text).

FAQThe FAQ button displays a list of 4 different FAQ options (Toolbar, Mall, Biz, and the Sales FAQ). Please read all FAQs before submitting a request to the admin team. Most likely, your question has already been asked.

Note: The Sales FAQ link only works if you are already logged into your back office. Otherwise, this link will take you to your administrative login page.

Alert TabAnother key feature of the MPM Toolbar is the Alert notification. The alert setting is managed through the toolbar settings' Alert tab. There are 8 different options for the frequency of Alert checks. The frequency ranges from 5 minutes to 7 days to never. By default, the Alert will check the server every 5 minutes for an update.

The way the alert works is based on a timer. The timer looks at the frequency set on the toolbar and if the timer exceeds the frequency, the toolbar looks at our server to get the date/time stamp of the html file that contains the alert information. If the date/time stamp of the alert file differs from the stored value of the previous alert reference, then the new alert is displayed.

The "Check for alerts every" selection uses that time interval to "check" for new alerts. It does not mean the alert will be displayed every 5 minutes. Note: On some systems with tigher security, the alert may be displayed every 5 minutes because the toolbar application does not have permission to write the date/time stamp appropriately. In this case, change your frequency to 1 Day rather than 5 Minutes.

You can also turn off the alerts (not recommended). We provided this option for college students taking exams or businesses that rely heavily on the internet who do not have time to close the alert popup box. This is your business, so we hope you'd want to stay up to date with all the MPM news.

The last item on the toolbar is the Popup Blocker. If you "whitelist" a website, it means your browser will open that page bypassing the Popup blocker. It allows you to manage "trusted" websites. This popup blocker should block most pop-ups unless you "whitelist" that URL beforehand. You can temporarily turn off the popup blocker by clicking on the popup blocker button. When you do this, the button will read "OFF" instead of Popup Blocker. When you click the "OFF" button, you will see a count of the number of popups blocked so far.

The last item we need to discuss is the Whitelist (not displayed on the toolbar). If you "whitelist" a website, it means your browser will open that page bypassing most security features. It allows you to manage "trusted" websites. To add a site to your "trusted" list, open the Toolbar settings and click the Whitelist tab. Type or copy/paste the URL you want to allow and click the Add button. You can also remove any site listed by highlighting the URL and click the 'Remove from White' list button.

We have provided a Toolbar that rivals any that are out there – giving you all the features you normally need, while also giving you all the things you need to run your MPM business most powerfully and effectively. And, of course, it’s all FREE!

Have fun exploring and using it!
